Fun Easter Games & Activities

We all love chocolate, especially at Easter! Create some healthy new some new Easter traditions with these fun games and activities. Get everyone moving with these ideas to incorporate physical activity for kids of all ages this Easter!

Easter Egg Hunt

This is a given for any Easter event! To get the most out of your hunt hide eggs outside in your garden so your participants will have further to search. If you have a wide age range taking part consider giving each child a personal colour and they only seek and collect that colour, giving the toddlers a chance to still take part. You can hide more than just chocolate eggs and confectionary; you can fill reusable eggs with small toys or and homemade written rewards or treats eg a homemade voucher to take them swimming. If you have children that rise early, you can maximise the fun by adding glowsticks inside plastic eggs for a fun glow hunt!

Chick, Chick, Chicken

Have fun, get some exercise, and make sure everyone gets a turn of being a Chicken! Remember the game Duck, Duck goose from your childhood? Give it an Easter twist by renaming it Chick, Chick, Chicken and playing Easter music. If you’ve not played before here’s how:
– Get all the players in a circle except the first person who is It.
– The player who is It walks around the circle, tapping each player on the head, saying “chick” each time until he decides to tap someone and say “chicken.”
– The person becomes the chicken and runs after the player who is It, trying to tag him before It can take his seat. If It successfully reaches the chickens seat without being tagged, the chicken is the new It.
The game can be adapted to have different rounds with different spring animals for example Bunny, Bunny, Rabbit and have the players hop instead of running to try and reach the seat.

Egg and Spoon Race

Add an Easter twist to this relay race by using an easter eggs. To play you simply need eggs and spoons. The players must speed walk or run a race while balancing an egg on a spoon. If the egg falls off the spoon, the participant must stop and replace it before they can continue with the race. The person who crosses the finish line first with their egg on their spoon is the winner. Mix it up futher with the participants wearing bunny ears and hopping while racing.
