The summer holidays are fast approaching, which is exciting but also a worry for many parents. We understand it can be daunting thinking of ways to entertain your children throughout the six-week holidays, and the juggle of work and childcare, which is especially challenging.

Holiday Camps are a great option for meeting your childcare needs as well as providing your child with a multitude of skills and benefits. Here at PTC sports, we don’t stop when school stops! We are committed to providing the local community with affordable childcare all year round. Our Holiday Clubs are not only enjoyable but will provide your child with a host of new skills. With nearly 10 years of experience in delivery and running Holiday Clubs these are 6 benefits we see children gain from attending.


  1. Growth in Confidence and Self-esteem

Holiday Clubs allow children to try a wide range of activities, some known and some brand new. Children refine existing physical skills whilst developing new ones, which helps them flourish. Socially children thrive with challenge and competition, the clubs provide plenty of opportunities to build determination and resilience. Trying new activities at Holiday Club will help them discover a skill or strength they didn’t know about previously, which will boost their confidence. In our experience children that participate in Holiday Club leave happier, more confident, with new skills and more of a can-do attitude.

Attending a Holiday Club will help build confidence in learning how to navigate new situations independently, which is a great life skill. Furthermore, mixing, and learning how to work together as a team with children from different schools, areas and backgrounds is a valuable lifelong skill, as well as a great opportunity to make more friends.

Our population of children are becoming increasingly sedentary. The current recommendation is for children to partake in at least 60 minutes of moderate or vigorous intensity physical activity a day. At school most of their time is spent sat behind at desk, with little opportunity to move, let alone run or be physically active, pair this with increasing amounts of screen time entertainment you will see why 60% of children are failing to be active for even an hour a day! At our Holiday Clubs our days are packed and non-stop fun, guaranteed to increase your child’s physical activity levels.

Regular exercise has lots of health benefits for children including, improved cardiovascular fitness, builds a stronger heart, bones and healthier muscles, greater posture, and balance. It also interestingly helps increase concentration, improves academic scores, reduces stress, and aids sleep.

We have over 30 sporting activities for all abilities including our newest sport Tri Golf, hockey, basketball, football, dance, gymnastics, mini games, tennis, dodgeball, and cricket. With such wide variety of activities on offer they stand a good chance of coming across something they’ll love doing and maybe even discover a lifelong passion for a sport.

Get back to nature (providing the great British weather plays ball, so to speak!) and away from screens. Spending time outside supports sleep, boosts vitamin D levels, improves mental well-being, and enhances creativity.
