Ex-premier league stars Steve Clardige and Steve Guppy have recently launched their second year of the Steve Claridge Football Foundation based in Portchester and Moneyfields.
The 2 year football program aims to give 40 aspiring footballers the chance to fulfill their dreams under the guidance of ex-premier league and Portsmouth legend Steve Claridge. The program will look to combine sporting excellence with academic, vocational qualifications and life skills. Built into this fantastic course individual’s gain either a BTEC qualification or a NVQ apprenticeship in Sports Coaching, along with the possibility of gaining their level 1 and 2 FA Coaching qualifications.
Steve Claridge said that “The main objective is to give them a little bit of structure to their lives. Make them understand what it takes to have a job every day, to turn up on time and have that bit of discipline. Some people don’t understand how disciplined the life of a footballer should be, if they do it properly. That’s what I’m trying to impress upon them through my football academy.”
